Gwinnett Center and Gwinnett Gladiators agree to 5-year contract extension

Duluth, GA. (July 10, 2014) – Today, Gwinnett Center and the Gwinnett Gladiators announced a 5-year contract extension thru the 2018-2019 ECHL season.

Gwinnett Center is a multi-purpose campus in Gwinnett County that includes The Arena at Gwinnett Center, and is home to the Gwinnett Gladiators. The first puck hit the ice on October 24, 2003, when the Gwinnett Gladiators secured their first win over the Augusta Lynx, 5-1.

Their twelfth season begins on the road on October 18, 2014, with their first home-stand at The Arena on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25.

“We are excited to have Gwinnett Gladiators hockey at The Arena for years to come,” says assistant general manager, Ron Jackson. “They are a great partner, and we look forward to a Kelly Cup victory this year!”

Gladiators Majority Owner Toby Jeffreys echoed the sentiment: “The Gladiators Organization is pleased to continue our partnership with the GCVB and arena staff as we call The Arena at Gwinnett Center home.  As Atlanta’s One and Only professional hockey team, this allows us to continue our relationships and focus on the community as we bring affordable, family fun to Gwinnett and Metro Atlanta.”
