Atlanta, Georgia – January 12, 2018—Attention country star Miranda Lambert fans:  Miranda Lambert is calling on you to help homeless animals at Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters while attending her concert at the Infinite Energy Arena on January 20, 2018. To rally the support of concertgoers and help animals in need, the songstress and Live Nation are offering up the chance for one lucky fan and a guest to meet Lambert at her concert by donating supplies for Furkids cats and dogs.

Lambert, a fierce advocate for homeless animals, is carrying out the Fill the Little Red Wagon promotion as part of her national Livin’ Like Hippies concert tour.  At every venue, she asks fans to donate pet supplies to local animal shelter organizations. Furkids is the organization chosen for the Atlanta concert.

Furkids has become one of the most successful nonprofit animal rescue and shelter organizations in the southeast U.S., operating one of the largest cage-free, no-kill shelters for homeless cats in Georgia and a state-of-the-art, no-kill shelter for dogs.  Furkids cares for approximately 1,000 homeless cats and dogs in its shelters, adoption centers and foster home network. The non-profit serves more animals on a daily basis than any other local organization in Georgia.  Since its founding in 2002, Furkids has rescued, spayed/neutered, and rehabilitated more than 25,000 animals, working to place them in permanent, loving homes.

The Fill the Little Red Wagon campaign has already made appearances at Lambert’s tour stops in Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. “The Little Red Wagon was overflowing and then some,” said a grateful Lambert.  “I thank my fans, the volunteers, the communities and the shelters for their tireless efforts and for how much they care about what I love, which is the mutts.”  Today, Lambert challenges her Atlanta fans to put Atlanta on the map by outdoing fans in these other cities by Filling the Little Red Wagon many times over.

Since the Little Red Wagon is set up outside the concert arena, donors aren’t required to have a ticket to the event.  Any Miranda Lambert fan who wants to support homeless animals can drop off pet food, treats, or pet supplies into the Little Red Wagon set up at the entrance of the concert venue on the evening of her performance.  One lucky donor has a chance to be randomly selected to win a meet and greet with Miranda before the concert.  All donations (click here for a Furkids wish list) will benefit Furkids.

Furkids staff and volunteers will be onsite at the concert to manage donations to the Little Red Wagon. At the conclusion of the drive, Live Nation, the Atlanta concert promoter, will turn all concert donations over to Furkids.

“Miranda Lambert shares our love of animals.  She is a powerful, outspoken advocate for animals in need, and Furkids is so proud to collaborate with her to help Atlanta’s homeless animals,” said Samantha Shelton, Furkids founder and CEO.  “Furkids urgently needs help with feeding and caring for more cats and dogs on a daily basis than any other local animal organization, and we are grateful to Miranda and Live Nation for giving us this opportunity.  We’re so happy for the help only Miranda’s fans can give us! The food and supplies will give us a chance to rescue, care for and adopt more animals into loving homes.”

In 2014, Furkids was Miranda's Georgia charity, selected to receive a grant from her Mutt Nation Foundation. She gave donations to animal shelters, one shelter per state.

The Atlanta stop on Miranda Lambert’s Livin’ Like Hippies Tour includes Jon Pardi and Brent Cobb. The tour includes over 20 stops across the country.
