Backstage with Michael Buble

ATLANTA -- Michael Buble is on a demanding 42-country tour and arrived on his tour bus in metro Atlanta at 5 a.m. on Sunday. The 38-year-old had just a small window of time to relax and eat, for his team to set up two stages for their performance at Gwinnett Center, an afternoon sound-check and a backstage interview with 11Alive.
Before talking about his music and how he got his start in clubs in Canada as a teenager, Buble had something else on his mind. The 38-year-old was fired up about his losing fantasy football league.
"I'm a guy. I'm your husband. I'm your brother. I'm your kid. I'm just a regular dude," he said.
And yes, while we talked about 'regular' things like professional sports, this 'regular dude' also broke out into beautiful a capella lullabies that he sings for his newborn son. Buble, and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, an Argentine actress and model, had their first child, Noah, two months ago.
Buble has yet to add any lullabies to his 'To Be Loved' tour. Instead, he entertained a sold-out crowd with the classics, 'Fever', his own pop song 'Haven't Met You Yet' and even some Motown.
High-energy, upbeat, and a man the ladies swoon over, the Canadian crooner, compared to the legendary Frank Sinatra, makes a concerted effort to connect with the men in the audience.
"I also like to see the guy sitting behind you who is looking at his phone trying to find out the scores for his fantasy league," Buble explained. "Sometimes being a good entertainer means being sensitive to that guy. And, trying your best to break him down and to turn him into a fan."
